Got a Post Idea?

Through the years, a few up-and-coming young writers have contributed their own post ideas to Andi’s Blog. For example, many of the character quizzes I have recycled (and updated) came from Sadie S., who years ago asked, “Mrs. M., I would love to think up some character quizzes. May I?” Absolutely! Ellen S. contributed at least two dozen “Andi’s Journal” posts, some seven parts long! Another young writer had an idea for a history post and I published that as a blog post.

Do you see where this is going? Andi’s blog is our blog–yours and mine. If you have an idea for a blog post, I would love to hear it. You can contribute to the content in many ways. Here are ideas.

  1. An “Andi and Melinda” Favorites post. Here’s the list of ideas you all came up with in September. You could also volunteer to do a least-favorite post. Just send the bare bones and I will do the rest (but I will give you credit).
    • favorite (least-favorite) trips
    • favorite (least-favorite) meals
    • favorite (least favorite) chores
    • favorite activity with brothers
    • favorite season
    • favorite Christmas memory
    • favorite (least favorite) ranch animal
    • favorite (or worst) childhood memory
    • favorite (least favorite) Bible character
    • favorite (least favorite) hairstyle
    • favorite song
    • favorite bedtime story
    • best (worst) lesson learned
    • favorite (least favorite) ranch hand
    • favorite niece or nephew
    • favorite prank (this one has been spoken for)
    • favorite adventure
    • favorite (least favorite) memory of Aunt Rebecca
  2. A history post about anything of interest during the setting of the Circle C books
  3. A character quiz for a minor (or major) character. (Think of one. I will let you know if I have questions from an earlier quiz on that character.)
  4. A Riley’s Ramblings post about something that happened during the “in between years,” before he showed back up on the Circle C in The Last Ride. Or a courtship post the year between the last two chapters of Courageous Love.
  5. An original idea I haven’t thought of!
How to Submit and Suggest

If you have an idea for a post, contact me >> I would love to talk with you about your idea. As a guest blogger, I would also include a short bio, and if you have a website/blog, I would include the link. You can also share ideas for posts and other things of interest in the comments (but if you want to be a guest blogger and you share about it in the comments, don’t forget to include your email in the private box before posting the comment).

      1. I have an email, but I don’t use it. I there any way I could talk to Mrs.M, like using a private comment, or something? I am working on a good fan fiction story based on Andi Carter. As I said before, I don’t use emails.

      2. What comment two squares below? I answer all comments on a master “comment” page so I do not know to which comment you are referring. What are you trying to ask? I have already replied to your other comments. Thanks

      3. You commented on a page “Submit Your Fan Fiction” with the same question. I don’t know how you got there, since that page is no longer active, but oh well. I answered your question there: https://andicartersblog.com/submit-your-fan-fiction/
This is the new page that explains how to submit your fan fiction. https://ranchfanfiction.blogspot.com/p/fan-fiction.html

But here is the answer again:
There is no way to post a “private” comment. Sorry. The best way is through the Contact page. You can paste the story in the message box. That way the story will get to me. You can use your email address even if you don’t “use” email. That is the only way to get the story to me. Unless you are on Facebook and you can IM me the story. Can’t think of anything else. You may NOT post the story in a comment. It is too long and will be flagged as “spam” most likely by WordPress and be deleted.

      1. Hmmm….maybe a Mr. Foster quiz? Or Jeffery, Melinda’s boyfriend? Or even a bad guy, like Jed or that creepy Chinese cook in San Francisco Smugglers…those character quizzes would be fun to create☺😀

  2. Sounds cool! I have a few questions for you:
    1. Does Macy Walker have an uncle? I looked in Thick as Thieves and there is no mention of him.
    2. Is Aunt Hester rich or poor?
    3. How long was Macy’s brother’s jail sentence, and why weren’t they hanged for horse thieving?

And BTW, if you wanted to, you could also do poetry contests or art, maybe? Just an idea if you wanted contests other than writing!

  3. Okay thanks! What was Macy’s uncle’s name? And I’m clueless about the prison time. Five years? Ten? Or more?
And when it says they have a farm, what kind of animals would they have? Pigs? Sheep?
Thanks so much for your time! I really appreciate it!

    1. The original “Tales from Memory Creek Ranch” says that Duke was bitten and killed by a rattlesnake. The new book has the same story but doesn’t specify the dog killed. Hope that helps!

  5. Hello. 🙂 I decided to make a Rosa Garduño character quiz. I have 17 questions and a bonus question. Rosa is mainly only in one book, so it’s hard to find questions. Is 17 questions okay?

      1. And I hate to tell you this, but I already have a Rosa Garduno quiz. I think you were supposed to check with me to see which ones I had before creating one. *oops* However, email me what you have and your questions might be better than mine from a few years ago.

  7. Do you happen to know if there is a post of Riley’s Ramblings when he comes back to Circle C Ranch after being always for eleven years? And becomes a wrangler?
I thought I read something like this somewhere but can not remember offhand.
    Thank you!

      1. That would make more sense. I tend to get the amount/years mixed up often. LOL
Ok! I was thinking of maybe writing that but from Riley Prescott’s point of view… and maybe adding a few things here and there. 🙂
        Thank you!
