What Am I❓ #19 – Burlap

Check out the other What Am I games >>

I received 177 entries, and a good portion of them guessed correctly – burlap or burlap sack. However, I also accepted “potato sack” and “feed sack.” At first I was not going to accept “feed sack,” because modern feed sacks are not made out of burlap, but after a little research, I discovered that burlap was indeed used for feed sacks in the 1800s, and Andi lived in the 1800s, so of course “feed sack” is a correct answer. Out of 177, 144 were left (and no, sorry, the mystery item was not a hat of any kind, the second-most guessed answer).

LYDIA, entry #12, is the winner. She has 48 hours to email me and claim her prize. Thanks for playing! I l already have October’s What Am I post ready to go.

I'm the author of the Circle C and Goldtown Adventures series. I blog as "Andi Carter," the main character in the Circle C series. She lives on a huge cattle ranch in 1880s California. These are her adventures.

      1. Oh, okay. I found it. I actually have no idea how they would have celebrated his birthday, or even if they would have, with Andi feeling very out of sorts. I think it would be fun if you wrote a fan fiction story with that very subject . . . Mitch’s birthday during The Last Ride. What do you say? We would all love to read it. Otherwise, I guess we will never know, as the subject of Mitch’s birthday during The Last Ride is way, way down on my list of describing. In fact, I might just change his birthday to AFTER Andi’s, so I don’t have to address this idea. 🤣

      3. However, I do think that Andi and Mitch seem super close in Heartbreak Trail and the Last Ride…. wre they just not close in the other books?

      4. Well, I can’t focus on one character all the time, but in the Stepping Stones book, Andi Under the Big Top, it’s Mitch who takes the girls to the Circus parade, and Mitch whom Andi thinks might die in Andi Far from Home when he catches scarlet fever, so he does have some spotlight time.

But the best story is where Mitch and Andi are alone in the line shack, after he gets shot and she’s pretty sure he’s going to die. It’s the original story (before I wrote Trouble with Treasure). They are very close in that survival story, which plays out differently than Trouble with Treasure (since Andi’s friend are along in that version). You can buy the original “Trouble at the Line Shack” book here for $9.99.

As far as writing a story, your best bet is to go to my writing website and watch the videos.

      5. When chad gets hurt, and andi needs to take over, mitch says to andi, “if you loose so much as to one of those Jugheads, I’ll take it out on your hide. Now get going .” I was just surprised that mitch of all people who seems really sweet and gentle, would ever actually whip her. Or was that not what he meant???

    1. Totally easy! Go to the “send” button on your google form (upper righthand corner), then choose the two arrows icon.
Copy the HTML code. Go to your post on WP and search for the “HTML” block. (like when you look for the image block, headings block, etc.)
Then paste the HTML code into the block and save. I just tested it on one of my practice “free” WordPress sites and it worked fine, so it should work for you.

  1. Is that answer an actual item? Or is it something you make into an item? Sorry, if your not allowed to answer those questions 😅
