Welcome, Abigail. I’m excited to present you as a guest blogger today. Hang on, everybody! Here’s a chance for YOU to be included in a “Books for Bibles” short-story anthology. Interested? Then read on . . .
Background
From Abigail: Howdy, folks! First of all, I would like to thank Mrs. M for featuring my anthology and website with you! Quite a few years ago, I decided to begin an organization where I would sell books I had written and use the profits to buy Bibles. Well, my original idea has changed, and I have now decided to try putting on yearly anthologies and . . . I would love it if some of you would enter a short story!!
Current Project
This anthology has the theme: God’s love is what makes the light shine in the darkness. The title of the book is Light Through His Love. Each story must be 3,000 to 5,000 words.

Who Can Enter?
Anyone over the age of ten may enter, although I request that you get your parents’ permission if you are under eighteen.
Who Will Have Their Story Accepted for Publication?
I will read through the stories and select the ones which best fit the theme. Any submissions which do not follow the rules will immediately be disqualified. The rules are listed in the submissions page of my website. (Please read carefully before submitting.) The link for submitting your story is also provided on my website.
You are not guaranteed to have your story published, and if your story is accepted, there will be no payment. All profits go to purchasing Bibles.
What Genres Are Accepted?
Historical, non-magical fantasy, mysteries, and contemporary stories are accepted as long as they are decent Christian fiction. You may enter up to two stories but only one will be accepted by each author.
When Will I Begin Accepting Submissions?
Submissions open April 1, 2025 and close May 1, 2025.
Thank you!

If you have any questions, leave a comment. I’m sure Abigail will be happy to answer your questions. I think this is an awesome opportunity and I encourage all you young writers to write a story to God’s glory and submit!

Oh, I love this!!!! Such a wonderful idea Abigail. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.

hi, Abigail! This is such a great idea! Just wondering, where are the Bible’s going to go?
Also, you could give some of the profits to trustworthy, solid missionary organizations… they can never have enough donations, and that is also a very worthy cause!

Yeah, I was also wondering what you did with the Bibles.

Hello, thank you for your interest! I will donate the proceeds to a ministry that sends Bibles out to people. Most likely it will be Christian Aid Ministries. They have a place on their website where a person can donate directly to fund Bible printing and sending out.

thank you for answering my question! I think Biblica is another great ministry where you can specifically give money for Bibles. What age group is your compilation geared toward?

in the post it says that each story must be at least 3000-5000 words , but does that mean that we can go over that number ?

Sorry might seem like a silly question .

BTW im the person that asked the number question .

Hi, Enislee! Sorry for the late response. That’s not a silly question. I would like the word count to not go over 5,000 words, please. Thank you for your interest!

One question Abigail. Is the title for all the stories be “Light through His love” or do we each come up with our own unique title? Thanks! 🙂

Hi! This is NOT Abigail. In the rules/submission form, she says part of the info needed on your document is your title. That probably means you can use your own title; Light Through His Love is the title of the entire compilation. Hope that helps!

I was wondering the same thing.

Random question, what does, “one story by each author will be chosen,” mean?

This is NOT Abigail.
I think what she meant is that you can enter up to 2 stories per person, but only one will be published.

Wow, sounds like a great ministry!
I hope it’s ok to announce that I published my first book here. Just trying to get it a little more readers besides my parents. Genre murder mystery/romance with a little bit of history. Suggested age:11, and up. It’s called The Forgotten Case on the Subway, and you can find it on amazon. A shout out to Mrs. Marlow’s helpful book called writer’s roundup! My love for reading, and writing started with Andi Carter!

Hello! Just thought I’d let you know that if you contact Mrs. M, she might make a blog post about your book. She’s done it a few times before for other young, newly published authors! You’d probably get a few more views that way.

If it’s Christian with a biblical world view then let’s talk and I can do a young author interview with you. Just use my contact form! 😀

ok, thank you! I am a Christian, but my book has no clear Christian message. It’s just a middle grade mystery. However, it is very clean, with a kiss or two (and they’re married) no curse words or adaptions of curse words. Church however, is mentioned.

How old are you, the author. If you are under 18 then since concessions can be made, but books by adults that I interview must have a clear Christian message for my younger readers…..

Hi, Abigail! Just wondering, can my story be like a hundred words over? Or does it have to be exactly under 5000? Thanks!

What does “acknowledgements” mean? Is it required?

Nope. Not required. It’s given a little shout out to those who helped you, but only if you want to
