I am so excited to introduce you to a brand-new streaming service that carries all of my audiobooks. But it is not just an audiobook streaming platform. They also have audio drama! I’m always on the lookout for tools that support faith, creativity, and are a good fit for my Circle C and Goldtown audiobooks. So, when I discovered WindowSeat, a screen-free audio app created just for Christian families, I knew I had to share it with you. (And when they offered to share these awesome giveaways, I realized this was too good of an interview to let it go.)

To give you the inside scoop, I connected with the team behind WindowSeat to learn more about what makes the app unique, what kind of stories you’ll find, and how it can bless your home life, homeschool rhythm, and car rides alike. Let’s dive in!

✔️ So tell me, Team, what exactly is WindowSeat?

WindowSeat is audio for Christian families! It’s a screen-free streaming app filled with faith-based audio content for kids. Think of it like a Christian Netflix, but all audio. We recently added music, so we became a multi-genre platform! Now we have audio (drama) adventures, devotionals, audiobooks, and music.

We are very intentional about the quality of content on the app. We put everything to the Philippians 4:8 test – Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

All our content celebrates biblical values like kindness, love, goodness, gentleness, integrity, honesty, and courage—the kind of fruit we hope to see in the lives of everyone who follows Jesus.

✔️ Who is WindowSeat designed for?

The app is designed for families with kids ages 4–16 +, but we’ve heard from parents and even grandparents who enjoy listening too. Homeschooling families are a big part of our audience, as many of them use the audiobooks and shows as part of their studies. 

✔️ What are some favorites on the app?

We recently had two dads on our customer advisory board tell us that both their daughters, one is 6 years old and one is 8 years old, LOVE Circle C. That is definitely a favorite! They can’t get enough of Andi!

The Keys for Kids Ministries audio (drama) shows like Down Gilead Lane and Red Rock Mysteries are pretty popular too, as is Discovery Mountain. I personally really like Chapel & Squeak. It’s an audio adventure about a mouse and a rat who live in a church and solve mysteries. It’s so cute.

✔️ I learned that WindowSeat had booths at homeschool conventions this year. Since several of your founders and their families homeschooled their kids, can you tell us how WindowSeat can help homeschool families and how has it been connecting with more homeschool families at homeschooling conferences? 

Homeschool families are awesome! We’ve had a blast going to conferences and connecting with families this year. WindowSeat vendored at two of the GHC conventions (Ohio and North Carolina), and at the INCH up in Michigan.

We’ve heard everything from “What’s an audio adventure?” to “I’ve been wishing an app like this exists!” Working closely with homeschool families has been a priority for us. We want to get their input on how WindowSeat can be a resource that adds value to homeschool lessons and cuts the hassle and cost of materials.

One homeschool mom we met was carrying around her entire CD collection of audio adventures. When she saw our table, she signed up that day so she wouldn’t have to carry the CDs around anymore! 

Some of the research we’ve come across about the benefits of lowering screen time and adding audio content into lessons is really compelling. From better pronunciation and grammar, to emotional regulation, to better impulse control. We really want families to have audio content as a tool in their homeschooling tool belt.

You can even download audiobooks and audio drama episodes to listen to without internet. The app plays through any Bluetooth device.
