This is SO Taffy!

Note: The featured image is the new website home page for my daughter. They are moving forward with their goal of breeding high-end horses in the next year or two, and she needed a website, so I offered to start one for her. When more content is published, I’ll give you the link. For now, you can see the home page header. Okay,,, moving on. Kristel sent me these two pictures of taffy yesterday . . .

I couldn’t wait for the update (scheduled for August 9) on the Painted Acres foals. Goodness! Is this Taffy? It is! I could not have hoped for a more “perfect” palomino horse character for Andi. And this one is the real deal! I’m so glad Kristel agreed to name her filly “Taffy” in honor of Andi’s Taffy. Oh, I love her (and miss her) so much! She is 3.5 months old and turning that beautiful golden palomino color. She’s a beauty, and now that she’s papered, she’s worth a fortune–seriously, like between $8,000 – $12,000. (No wonder Andi freaked out when her precious mare was stolen. Not only was Taffy her best friend, but she was also a valuable Circle C horse that had been taken.)

Kristel is finally going to listen to the audio version of The Last Ride. She doesn’t know how I could possibly have allowed “Taffy” to die (sorry, spoiler alert) and wants to listen to the story. I hope she can make it through without crying. Funny thing. Kristel has read Long Ride Home aloud to the kids, and of course, the little kids read the Beginnings out loud to her when they were reading first-chapter books, but life is so busy that she has never read her own mother’s books! Now that she is discovering that her Taffy is nearly identical to Andi’s Taffy in all things (looks, coloring, conformation, temperament, and good behavior) she is definitely being drawn into the books her children love. Audio is the way to go with her.

I love how Taffy’s mane flips onto each side of her neck, rather than just one side. And she has that blaze and the stockings (well, her left front leg does not have the stocking, but who’s gonna notice?)

Taffy’s Pedigree (brand new!)

That’s so funny that your own daughter hasn’t read your books for herself πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  2. I’d like to have a business of breeding horses when i am older. Probably Mustangs, Thoroughbreds. But every horse breed as well. God has given me a dream and I will keep it.
A horse is a good horse not just because of color. Animals (and humans) have Gods’ fingerprint.
