Taffy and Kody Update

Mrs. M has been reunited with her “babies,” Taffy and Dakota. Eeks! They have grown so much, but they did remember me. And now that I have been on Painted Acres Ranch for almost two weeks, it’s like I never left them. When I let them out to find their hay in the pasture, Kody usually pauses to greet me before following Jewels and Taffy out of the paddock. He wants a scratch or a quick hug. He’s such a baby boy and calm as a summer breeze.

We do not know what color he will be! He was getting chocolate but now he is turning lighter. It will be a surprise when he finally sheds out his final coat. Also, Kristel made the decision to geld Kody at a year old since she bought the foals’ sire, Rubicon. She only needs one stallion. 🐎 She is starting a horse breeding business “Painted Acres Ranch” and I’m starting work on her website. You can check it out here >>

Miss Taffy had a traumatic experience with the farrier a few weeks ago and is very shy about her back right foot. So we had to go backwards and start over with that foot like she was a baby again. Just brushing it and stroking it but not trying to lift it. Then last night, Kristel went around and lifted each foot and was able to lift the sore foot before Taffy figured out what she was up to. 🤪 So we are making progress.

Enjoy this fun then-and-now video of Taffy.

Sadly, I go home on Saturday and won’t see the foals for a couple more months. ☹️
