Enter to Win the Tales Books!

Okay, so I’m sending out a newsletter today for my Tales books 7-8 giveaway. Why? Just for fun. I found the cutest stuffie, so go ahead and read on and enter the giveaway! I pretty much just copied and pasted the newsletter right here since things are so super super busy on the ranch right now and fencing made me super tired! All those clips, T-posts, and pulling field fencing (well, the tractor pulls the fences’ lengths. But still!) But with 3 adults and 4-5 kids all lined up with an “all hands on deck” attitude, it went really fast. And honestly, I do like to fence. It’s so satisfying. So, I apologize for the copy and paste from the newsletter, but hey, you probably just want to enter the contest, so . . . read and enter!

Greetings from sunny, warm Texas! I am so excited that book 8, More Tales from the Circle C Ranch came earlier than I expected. Although this new book does not release until next week (April 22), I have my author copies! I wanted to do something different for a giveaway for my Andi fans, so I came up with including “Ebony,” Andi’s pet tarantula, as an extra prize. Ebony is an adorable Aurora stuffed tarantula, and even if spiders aren’t your thing, soft, plush Ebony will win your hearts. Ebony won my twelve-year-old granddaughter, Kristi’s, heart when she modeled for the giveaway (she loves stuffies).

So, what does a stuffed tarantula toy have to do with any of the stories in books 7 and 8 of the Circle C Adventures? The last story in book 7, Other Tales from the Circle C Ranch, is titled “Tarantula Trouble,” a hilarious retelling of Andi Carter’s attempts to keep a gentle, fragile California ebony tarantula as her perfect pet. As you might infer from the title, “trouble” is what Andi ends up with . . . tarantula trouble, that’s what!

This special giveaway includes both book 7 and book 8, and “Ebony,” who needs a new home. The contest runs one week, April 16 – April 23 @ 5pm Central Time (since I’m still in Texas). Thinking ahead, I bought two Ebony tarantula stuffies, so I decided to double the fun and have two winners.

And here is the bonus prize. Everyone who enters the giveaway receives the audiobook story “Tarantula Trouble” just for entering. After the two winners are drawn, I will send a follow-up email to all of the entrants with the link to the free download of “Tarantula Trouble.”

Enter the giveaway by clicking the black button below. You can earn bonus entries by sharing the giveaway with your friends, and by watching a couple of really short videos:

  1. My Andi look-a-like playing with two “wild” California tarantulas, and
  2. How to ride an 1800s penny-farthing bicycle, which is what Andi attempts to do in the story “A Close Call” from book 8, More Tales from the Circle C Ranch.

If you don’t care for giveaways and you don’t want a tarantula stuffie, you can go straight to the Circle C webstore and buy a two-book set of the books. I have some copies that I’m not using for giveaways and contests, and you are welcome to buy them. (However, I do not have any Ebony tarantula stuffies to sell.) I’m sure you are not sorry to hear that! 🤣

Circle C Writing & Art Contest

A little peek at what is coming up as a “Kick Off for Summer” during the entire month of May. It’s a Circle C Writing & Art Contest, sponsored by my publisher, Kregel Publications and yours truly (Mrs. M). You may choose either category and submit your entry for judging. There will be six winners from the two categories (Art and Writing). I can’t wait to tell you more!

Go here to read a little more about the contest, but not much more. I don’t want to give spoiler alerts. I will send out a newsletter in two weeks (on April 29) launching the contest! I will post it on the blog too. Stay tuned and get ready for some fun and prizes!

I'm the author of the Circle C and Goldtown Adventures series. I blog as "Andi Carter," the main character in the Circle C series. She lives on a huge cattle ranch in 1880s California. These are her adventures.

  2. Thank you for doing this, Mrs. Marlow!!! I told my mom about it and the tralatula stuff is and she said, “Why would you want a stuffed animal of a tralatula?” I love the fuzzy spiders!!! I know it’s weird, but the are Apollo fuzzy! I want one, but mom doesn’t approve.

    1. I don’t know why you could not comment on the “preview” contest page. I see other comments there. Of course you can enter both contests. They are completely unrelated. This is a GIVEAWAY. The upcoming one is a CONTEST.

  3. Mrs M,

I’m working on my short story for the anthology that Abigail is putting together. I was wondering, how do I address Gracie’s Mom? (This is written in the third person) Do I call her Mrs. Phillips, or Martha, (her first name) or just Gracie’s mom? She talks a lot to Gracie.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  4. Hi, Mrs. M! Quick question, I was wondering when you were going to announce the winners if this contest? Thank you! ❤️

    1. Everyone who entered the giveaway received an email announcing the winner, plus they got the “bonus” door prize of the audio story “Tarantula Trouble” that they could download for free to listen to.
If you entered the giveaway you should have received the email. If you did not receive it, it might be in your spam folder or another tab. Unfortunately, there were four entries who (in the past) have unsubscribed from the newsletter, so those people did not receive the email. The newsletter “host” has a long memory and unsubscribed contacts never receive any emails unless they are a winner. Then I send a private email to the winners. Hope that answered your question.,
