Which Daydream Pose?

I don’t want Jenny to look too “old,” but I like her dreamy expression in the first image. Which do you prefer? (Not that Kregel will use them anyway, but it’s fun to create just for fun!)

Or . . . does she look young enough in #1 and I should keep the daydreaming expression, since she gets in trouble for it on the last day of school? Thanks for your help, and my author friend thanks you too for all your feedback from yesterday’s post.

#1-dreamy but older-looking

#2 – more the right age, 12th bday.

  1. I think both look good and she looks young in both pictures. But I noticed in #2 that her copybook is upside down (I don’t know if that was intentional?).

  2. I think #1 looks more like a daydreamer than #2. # 2 looks more like she’s smiling from something that might be taking place in the classroom.

  3. I think #1 is better. She doesn’t look too old, and I really like the dreamy look. I actually think she looks younger than 12 in #2.

  4. I think she looks better in #1. The second one makes her look too young and also gives the appearance of her smiling at something in the class. I do think that making her hand relaxed and her pen not poised on the paper would make the first one more realistic. If she were truly in the middle of “woolgathering,” she wouldn’t be so poised and ready to write (in my opinion).

  5. I like one much better. In my opinion Jenny looks too young in the second one. One is a better option for what you’re wanting; a dreamy day-dreaming effect. 2 kinda looks like she’s looking at her teacher or someone in front of her and is exited for a lesson or recess or something like that. ALL my opinion though!

I haven’t read the other comments but just now as i’m finishing up i’m seeing that anonymous is sayign the same thing… lol

  6. Mrs. Marlow, I have a question about the recent post where Lillian Humphreys was doing a giveaway on her book. I wanted to ask her a question about it, but when I tried to comment on that post, it won’t allow me to-it says “sorry, your comment could not be posted.”

Am I doing something wrong or are comments closed on that post? I did leave my email, so that wasn’t why.

    1. The comments are not closed so I do not know why you’re not able to do a comment. I went over there and posted a comments “testing” and it posted fine.

  7. #1. The second one looks like she is about 8. The first is clearly daydreaming. The second is looking ahead which still could mean that she is listening to someone ahead of her.

  8. Number 1 !! it looks like she is bored, dreaming that instead of a stuffy schoolroom, she off on high adventure, somthing that andi might do;) She still looks 12 so 1!! number 2 looks like she enjoys what the teacher is saying, which i’m sure is not the case LOL 😉

  9. When will you show new ideas? and how did you make the colorized pictures? (when will book 2 be out? 2028? or maybe fall of 2027?)

      1. Because they want a short release date between the first two books of a new series to get people excited about it. It’s a year because they’d already had their other lists full so they couldn’t fit me in in 2026

    1. Are you going to make pictures of inside her house? and how big is her house roughly, small cabin, medium, spacious, mansion?

      1. Whose house? It’s pretty big house with two stories a typical two-story clapboard house in Tacoma for someone who is pretty well off I mean after all he owns a sawmill and a logging company…. But not a mansion because they’re more frugal than that I have six kids.

      2. Sorry, to clarify: meant Jenny’s house.

And when will you put up more pic/cover ideas?

        thanks!

  10. I hadn’t planned on putting up any pictures of Jenny’s house cuz right now I’m pretty involved in actually writing the story. When I’ll put up more cover ideas when it gets closer to the time when my publisher is going to be thinking about the cover and I’ll need everybody’s input so they get a good cover that I like in that you like
