A few years ago, my publisher, Kregel Publications, sponsored a fun, low-key writing contest and giveaway when the book Heartbreak Trail released. We patterned the new Memory Creek Milestones writing contest and giveaway after the previous contest . . . with a few added perks. Instead of less than 100 words and only a week’s deadline, the contest has been expanded to less than 500 words with two weeks until the deadline.

    1. Happy statehood day! I don´t live in AZ anymore, but I was born and raised there my entire life (except for these past 3 years).

    1. Yes it does get hot. It gets so hot, you could actually bake food outside. I have baked cookies before in the sun (surprisingly, they tasted better than the ones baked in the oven) and there was a restaurant near us that would bake pizza in the sun if it got hot enough. I guess if you’ve lived there your entire life you don´t really notice the heat much (because we were used to it). Since I have been gone for 3 years though, I bet I would fry if I went back (it often reached in the 100’s. Especially in Phoenix).

      1. Wow!! That’s is SO hot Lizzy!!! I am so not a heat person! Even when we go to FL in March for vaca I am BURNING up 😆🥵

  9. I live in Minnesota so, not really a big fan of heat. (Although it usually get’s up to 96 degrees here in the summer. I pretty much melt. The winter is awesome though. It get’s down to -40 0. Brrrr!)

  10. Brrrr I live in Oregon we just get a lot of rain in the winter. but this summer got up to 106 it’s usually only 80 here in the summertime. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY❤️❤️

    1. Yea they did. While normal cookies would take around 30 min to cook, these took like 3 hours lol. It was worth it tho! They were so yummy 😋
