Waiting Around for a Foal

Jewels is in active labor since this morning. I’m guessing a foal by tomorrow morning! I’ll send pictures and videos and I’ll start the foal naming contest! While I am waiting around, I came up with yet another Trouble in Tacoma book cover. (Well, actually, I’m creating a book trailer and I liked what I created so I turned it into a book cover.) Here it is. What do you think? Should it be part of the voting or is it too “dull” for a cover. I like it because it looks so real.

And while we are at it, I started coming up with some Narrow Escape covers (Shh! I’m not ready for the official voting, not until my publisher sends me yet another questionnaire, but I’m thinking ahead.) Which of these log-rolling covers do you like best? The more “illustrated” one or the more “realism” one?

Or maybe you like the scene where they find the boat? It hints of an adventure.

Well, something to keep us busy while we WAIT for Jewels’s foal!!!

  1. I definitely do not think the new cover idea is too dull! I feels very realistic in my opinion! Also the new cover ideas for The Narrow Escape look amazing, but I definitely like the last one best! To me, Jenny seems a little stiff in the second one.
Also I can’t wait to hear about the foal!

  2. I like the new cover! Not too boring at all.
I personally like the second log rolling option. I prefer the realistic nature of it. But I don’t like that you can’t see Jenny’s face in that one. It is her series, after all.

  3. I like the boat cover best! Or the school one. Good job and I can’t wait for the foal!!

  4. Honestly, the school one is waaaaaaay to boring, no offence, it could be great for an inside illistration, but not a cover! For the second book, the boat one is the best, because “All books are judged by their covers until they are read” the boat suggests adventure. For book 1 cover, the one of Jenny chasing raindrop (You shared it in an earlier post) is best, Just my opinion though!

  5. I like the boat cover for narrow escape-wondering how much the two boys play into the series, as to me the boat one looks like it would follow the trouble in Tacoma cover where they’re together outside the holding pen quite nicely.

  6. I agree with Macy, boat is best, school is too boring, and on the first log-rolling option, Jenny looks too young, like 8-9, and on the second, she looks too old, like 16-17. My opinion. Oh and the Jenny chasing Raindrop is best for the first book.

    1. Hi Lucy! I’m touched you share my opinion! Btw, your name is like Lucy Hawkins, and mine is like Macy Walker!

  7. I like the second log rolling one or the boat one best. I agree the school one is not Jenny style. After all she doesn’t like school any better than and I.

  8. I think I like the boat one best. I like the second log one too, but I agree with some of the people from earlier comments. Jenny looks a bit too old in it, and I’d like it more if her head wasn’t turned away.
