🖊️ Flash Fiction and Art Contest Winners 🎨
This was a fun flash fiction contest and art contest. So many creative stories and delightful art entries. Even if you did not win, you’ll want to check out the winner’s story and the art contest winner’s photo, along with all of the wonderful entries. The next Flash Fiction Contest will be held the first Tuesday of NOVEMBER. (I’m skipping October. I’m afraid if I host the contest too often, you’ll get tired of it.)

The Rest of the Newsletter
For those of you who for some reason are not getting the newsletter, here’s what’s in it this month (along with the Flash Fiction and Art Contest results). You can subscribe (or resubscribe) here 👉 Subscribe to the newsletter.
Why should you subscribe? Because although I do announce the What Am I and the Contests here on Andi’s blog, there is exclusive content that I send out only to my newsletter subscribers (like the free audiobook I’m giving away near the end of September). And soon, I will be giving an exclusive call for “influencers” to help promote the new Jenny Grant book.

September’s first email is packed with fun news. Here’s what you will find:
- The popular “What Am I Game.” Guess the mystery object and win prizes!
- An update on my new Timberland series releasing next April 2027.
- Bible Verse of the month. I challenge you to hide God’s Word in your heart–one verse at a time.
- Winners of August’s Flash Fiction and Art Contests.

For those who are asking, “Which cover did the publisher choose?” I have good news. No, I don’t know which cover, but I received an email the other day, and they LOVE my (our) ideas! They want to “work with” the ideas I sent. I also sent the results of the cover survey, so they are aware of which sort of art style most of you prefer. This is very exciting for me, as a cover can make or break that all-important first impression. Again, thank you for your imput this summer! Note: they also loved this LOGO I created and want to use it on the back cover. Go figure. Thanks, Kregel Publications!
My publisher also settled on the title for book one and for the series.
- Book One – Trouble in Tacoma (I’m happy they agreed with me!)
- Series Title – Timberland Adventures (I originally had Timberland Trails, but they prefer “Adventures” in it. I’m happy with that, as it goes along nicely with Circle C Adventures and Goldtown Adventures.
- Want to read the first chapter? Help yourselves! I opened up the page to comments. I’d love to hear what you think about the opening chapter. What do you think happens next? 👉 CHAPTER ONE
- I surprised myself by suddenly thinking up an idea for a THIRD book in the Jenny Grant series. (I have a contract for two books, but you never know. My publisher may want a couple more). More surprises: I wrote the first chapter! The name of this new book is Smoke and Secrets. What do you think it is about? If you reply to this email with your guess, I’ll tell you what it really is about so you can see how close you came with your guess!
🔎September What Am I Game
It’s time for the September WHAT AM I? mystery object. I have not been able to stump you guys lately, but maybe this one will be a challenge. And check out this month’s prize for the winner. You may choose from:
- Circle C Fun Pack: horse stickers, Circle C magnet, horse sticky note, horse mini-notebook, horse pen.
- Ever-popular gold and fool’s gold combo pack.
- Guessing game runs September 8-September 15 @5pm PDT. Open to US or APO mailing addresses.
Last month’s mystery object was . . . cardboard, nearly 100% of you guessed it right (128 out of 131). KENZIE won the drawing. She chose the Circle C tote bag as her prize. Thanks for playing. I hope you guys are not getting tired of this monthly guessing game. It’s fun to find zoomed in objects that may be easy . . . or may stump you!

✨Bible Verses of the Month: Psalm 18:3 and 46
I found a song to go with these two verses. Click the image or the button to sing along!

I love the mystery games although I’ve never won one there still fun. Thanks
I’m kinda sad about not winning the art contest, but im still glad i entered.
Good job Abriana!!!
Just so you know…. It was a hard choice between you and the other one, and I let my judge make the final decision.
Also, I think it’s kind of funny that the winner of the writing contest and I have the same name.
I know! I had to go back and double check to make sure it wasn’t the same Joanna, because you can only enter one or the other. And one of the Joanna’s, I think it’s the one who won the writing contest, also entered the art contest. And I had her make a choice to either enter the writing contest or the art contest. And she chose the writing contest, so I deleted her art entry.
So then when I got your art entry toward the end I had to do a double take and make sure it wasn’t the same Joanna B cuz you have two different last names. 🤩
(That was me above)
Thank you, that actually means a lot to me.
👍
(it would of been funny to see both winners of the contests having the same name)
Oh my! I never thought of that! If that has been the case, I would have included full last names so no one would accuse me of letting the save person win both.
