Kody and the Saddle Pad
It comes to all good horses eventually. They need to learn to carry a rider. Clearly, Dakota (at six months old) is not old enough to carry even the youngest rider, even though he is over 12 hands high already! However, it’s never too early to teach him that saddle pads are fun and interestingContinue reading “Kody and the Saddle Pad”
Look-a-like Fun Reminder
See more Photo Fridays >> Just a reminder. I am still accepting submissions for the Look-a-Like Round 3 contest (Circle C and Goldtown). I think that this time . . . instead of choosing a random winner, I will open it up as a “Readers’ Choice” vote. I haven’t had one of those for aContinue reading “Look-a-like Fun Reminder”
Rubicon and His Foals
Rubicon’s Moonlight Motion, Dakota’s sire, has been trained to lie down and let his former owner, Megan, rest on his back. Rube is a big stallion, 16hh, but he’s as gentle as a kitten. (Kristel is his new owner). Watch this fun video with Megan showing Rube off, and then Kristel beginning the first stepContinue reading “Rubicon and His Foals”
Dakota Six Months Old
A fun video showing Kristel of Painted Acres Ranch and Kody. He stands like a gentleman in one place, with his head up, to have his hooves picked. Just like Andi trained Shasta and Sunny to stand still while they have their hooves picked. Here is the excerpt from Thick as Thieves. Andi is doingContinue reading “Dakota Six Months Old”
Meet Quinton!
Well, dear readers, I think it’s time we cooked up another baby for Andi and Riley. Jessica (the real Andi) has passed us by with brand-new baby Quinton, born August 27, 2023. He’s a keeper! She is now the happy momma of four boys! She homeschools, and they homestead on their own farm in ArkansasContinue reading “Meet Quinton!”

Photo Friday Fun
First up is our new “friend.” I named him Yogi Bear, after a cartoon bear I loved to watch as a kid. Mr. M wondered why our cat, Rosie, was sitting frozen solid on the deck porch bench at 4:30 am after she was let out. Now we know why! Yogi is wandering around lookingContinue reading “Photo Friday Fun”
Circle C Fan Art
Please welcome our latest guest blogger, Juniper G., to Photo Fridays. She “writes” in pictures, so what she sent me is perfect for this week’s Photo Friday. She’s an artist of few words, but this is what she has to say about her Fan Art: “I’m very excited to share these with you! I justContinue reading “Circle C Fan Art”
Photo Friday Fun
Enjoy more Photo Fridays >> It’s been a long, hard couple of weeks. Thank you for your prayers for my sister and her family. Since I’m having trouble keeping things organized, I just threw together a random Photo Friday for today. It’s from the homeschool convention from the beginning of June, pictures of our ShastaContinue reading “Photo Friday Fun”
