Look-a-like Round Two Winner

Round one was tons of fun. The winner was #4, Patience W. (Rosa). She chose Trouble at the Line Shack as her prize (the book of your choice).

Round two was just as much fun. The winner was #16 Derek (Riley). I’m thrilled with the number of entries: 23 (plus a last-minute entry that I did not count toward the drawing: Jared Prescott, age 2. Check it out at the bottom of the gallery). 😍

I have a lot of giveaways and contests and the annual contest coming up, so I need to “retire” the Look-a-Like contest for a few months. I may start it up next spring for a round 3.

ROUND TWO

#16 “Young Riley” (Derek) is the winner, choosing Andrea Carter’s Tales from the Circle C Ranch (since their family has every other book!). After Random.org chose the winner, I put all of the photos in this gallery in no particular order.

ROUND ONE

#4 “Rosa” (Patience) is the winner, choosing Trouble at the Line Shack. After random.org chose the winner, I put all of the photos in a gallery in no particular order.

I'm the main character in the Circle C Adventures series. I live on a huge cattle ranch in 1880s California. These are my adventures.

    1. The real story or the “Andi shoots the cougar” story? LOL
Here is what Christiana sent me when she sent the pictures: “About the cougar picture: Mical helped his wife shoot the cougar one day a year or two after they were married and he was SO proud of her!”
(The picture of Mical and his wife is #2). They are real cowboys and manage an isolated ranch in the middle of nowhere! A TRUE Circle C rancher!

More from Christiana. These are her cousins:
“Mical and Missy worked a couple hundred thousand acre ranch by themselves, taking care of six hundred head of cattle. The terrain is so rough that side-by-sides and four wheelers can’t get through, so horses are the only way of traveling across the range. When their first daughter was born, Missy just packed her on her back and kept working with Mical. When there were two girls, the whole family still went to work a couple days a week. They’ve moved a few times since then, and now they are in Prineville, Oregon, working for another rancher.”

    2. Missy is my cousin (in law) and she and Mical are amazing! πŸ™‚ I have to add this second cougar story that happened before she and Mical got married.
Mical was out on his horse with his dogs and they tracked down a cougar. The dogs caught up with the cougar and when Mical caught up with his dogs, the animals were all in a jumbled up tangle. Three ranch dogs fighting one very nasty wildcat. Mical didn’t want his dogs to be seriously injured (they were already scratched up) but he didn’t want to shoot either, ’cause he couldn’t be sure he wouldn’t hit the dogs. So he got as close as he could and when there was an opening, he reached through the fight and slit the cougar’s throat with a hunting knife!
I love my Mical, and I think he is amazing!!! but I’m not sure about that decision…
Afterwards it makes a great story, but if I’d been out there with him…?
Anyway, thanks for letting me brag on my cousin. πŸ™‚

  3. So neat! I’ll have to ask my mom about entering in this second one. But I’m not sure who I could be. I’ll have to think about this one. I have a little sister who could be Andi as a baby??? I’ll have to ask my mom about that too!

    1. Since this is the last round (I have so many things going on and giveaways and other stuff) I’ll see what happens on the last day. If there are like 30 entries, I will divide them up. πŸ˜‰

      1. I don’t. Tech week theme is costume/tie-dye, so I decided why not dress up like Andi? I can braid my own hair, I’ve got a flannel, and I have jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat
